Nor has there been a lack of interesting things to say. It's just that since I wrote the LSAT on December 2, I've been very busy studying. And then, after I wrote the LSAT, there was a gala birthday/farewell party to plan and execute with Joffre's school. And now it's time to get ready to go back to Canada in five more days, which means finishing Christmas shopping, packing, cleaning, exchanging information with people we won't see again, and school-year-end headaches. All in all, a very busy month.
Things of note that happened this past month:
-Idiots keep throwing rocks at our house in the night, and have broken the skylight. Security patrol seems to deter them, as long as security patrol are around.
-Alec has entered the much touted "language explosion" of toddlerdom. Recent additions to his vocabulary include "hola señor," "glasses (da-tshuh)," "ya-ta" (ya está, which is along the lines of "there you go"), "kee-ta" (aqui estoy, which means "here I am"), and "o-da-bey" (otra vez, meaning "again!"). His understanding of both Spanish and English is very good.
-Sonia got married! On my birthday!! It was awesome, and we were honoured to be invited.
-We went to the beach for a few days. And just rested. Played in the sand, ate fish, relaxed. It was wonderful.
-Birthdays. Mine, Sonia's, Carlos's, and Joffre's party, which went quite well.
-I wrote the LSAT. It was not as hard as I'd feared, suggesting that all my prep work was useful. I get my score in early January, and am trying hard not to think about it till then.
Aaaand: we decided to come back to Peru instead of staying in Canada after Christmas. There was a lot of uncertainty and back-and-forth on it, but as of two days ago, we are officially coming back here from the second week of January till sometime in March or April.
Okay, you're up to date. Back to the packing go I.
